Igor Butman Music Group (IBMG), Russia
Russia’s biggest organizer of jazz events, led by saxophonist, band leader and producer Igor Butman, has been on the scene since the 90s and currently runs Jazz Across Borders, Russia’s largest jazz conference as well as no less than nine festivals and two clubs; one in Moscow and one in Saint Petersburg.

Butman himself is no stranger to the stage, either, having toured the world for decades and collaborating with the likes of Michael and Randy Brecker, Bill Evans and Peter Bernstein since the start of his career in 1981, when the Soviet Youth Magazine named him Discovery of the Year. At that point, Butman was 20 years old, but had already been playing the clarinet for a decade(!).

Through his label Butman Records, he has launched the careers of Russian talents such as LRK Trio, who played Amersfoort Jazz in 2017 and were the first-ever Russian act to play JazzAhead! conference in 2021.
