Connecting Cultures, Bridging Times

The first-ever Hong Kong International Cultural Summit 2024, hosted by the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, will be held on 25-26 March 2024 at the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD).

The Summit will offer a platform to bring together leaders from arts and cultural institutions globally to promote international cultural exchange and cultivate long-term partnerships. It will also demonstrate Hong Kong’s commitment to acting as an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange.

The Summit will be the first international event to open Hong Kong’s 2024 Art Week (25-30 March 2024), during which Art Basel Hong Kong and other major arts and culture events will be staged. More than 1,000 representatives from arts and cultural institutions from Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas will be invited to join the Summit, with many more expected to participate online. Participants will be able to gain insights from global cultural leaders and experts on a range of topical issues such as the contribution of cultural districts to the social and economic transformation of cities, the opportunities and challenges of digitalisation, the impact of innovation on museum interpretation, and new ways of forging international cultural collaborations.

Apart from the Summit, participants will have an opportunity to experience the rich tapestry of Hong Kong’s cultural landscape, covering M+, the Hong Kong Palace Museum, Xiqu Centre, Hong Kong Museum of Art and Tai Kwun as well as attend the Art Basel, among others. These cultural facilities and programmes will showcase the uniqueness of Hong Kong – a place where ancient and modern and Eastern and Western cultures come together in a truly memorable way.
